The building phase of any construction project is always exciting. After months of planning All Done Design now put the plans into action, from commencing ground works through to installing the finishing touches and thoroughly checking every inch of the finished building to ensure everything works as it should.
Although the Plan of Work seems short at this stage it can takes months to see each individual element completed. However, time spent on this phase is money well spent and a good project manager will always make sure that the client is receiving value for money.
The construction phase covers:
Mobilisation:
- Letting / signing of the building contract by the client and contractor
- Site hand over and commencement of site preparations for construction work
Construction to Practical Completion:
- Administration of the building contract to Practical Completion
- Provision to the contractor of further information as and when reasonably required
- Review of information provided by contractors and specialists
- Site and construction work review with client and Contracts Manager and preparation of snagging list for rectification of defects
At this stage many see the project as finished but there is still one more step to take. See Services –Use: Being Practical for more details.
